FACIAL NEURALGIA Facial Neuralgias like Trigeminal Neuralgia and Atypical Facial Pain can be among the most difficult medical conditions to treat. For some people, surgery is not an option or an answer. Drugs can mask the pain of facial neuralgias but even then sometimes they fail. So one way or another, cope we must. Those of us who have these conditions or their family members might be quite skeptical about whether there *really* are ways to cope with such intense pain and the fears and emotional upheavals that such pain invariably produces. Of course, there are no easy answers but there are ways that can make the journey through facial neuralgia pain a little smoother. The following sections attempt to give facial neuralgia patients tools to enable them to better cope with the physical as well as the emotional pain of these terrible disorders.
